From 2pm-4.30pm, the team at Little Holland Hall will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
There will be a ‘right royal knees up’ at Little Holland Hall to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, with residents and visitors able to enjoy live music, balloon modelling, a Punch & Judy show and games and stalls including a coconut shy and a Splat the Rat competition. Refreshments will also be available in the form of a barbecue and an ice cream stand.
Deborah Rich, home manager at Little Holland Hall, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Little Holland Hall has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Saturday 18th June and welcoming the people of Holland on Sea to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Little Holland Hall will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age. The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
