Beech Hurst care home invites people in Haywards Heath to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Beech Hurst care home in Haywards Heath is inviting local people to visit the home on Butlers Green Road on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 3pm until 5pm, the team at Beech Hurst will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

In honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday, there will be right royal celebration at Beech Hurst on Friday. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a barbeque, and there will be musical entertainment and a raffle to help everyone get into the party spirit.  All those who drop-by on the day can take a tour of Beech Hurst, and meet residents and the Care UK team at the home.

Soonita Shaw, home manager at Beech Hurst, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Beech Hurst has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and we are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Haywards Heath to be a part of it.” 

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Beech Hurst will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.  The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
