Care Home Open Day success at Heatherbrook care home

Heatherbrook Care Home on Como Street welcomed the people of Romford through its doors for an event to celebrate Care Home Open Day.

Heatherbrook was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.

Residents and visitors enjoyed a host of activities at Heatherbrook, including a barbecue, entertainment, and the opportunity to browse stalls selling handmade craft items and gifts. There was also a talk from a guest speaker. 

Nazima Choudbury, home manager at Heatherbrook, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike.  We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Heatherbrook, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.

“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
