Mill View was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
It was party time at Mill View, with a summer fete-style event held in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday. Residents and visitors were joined by guest of honour, The Mayor of East Grinstead, Councillor Bob Mainstone; and one of the highlights of the day was an live entertainment from singer, Britney Marais, who got everyone singing along with hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Cindy Luscombe, home manager at Mill View, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Mill View, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
