Church View care home invites people in Seaham to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Home news

Care UK’s Church View care home in Seaham is inviting local people to visit the home on Church Lane on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 10am until 2pm, the team at Church View will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Residents and visitors will be able to join a coffee morning, where there will be entertainment including a fun game of bingo and a tempting selection of homemade cakes to enjoy. There will also be an information session for visitors to find out more about what life is like at Church View.

Michelle Daglish, home manager at Church View, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Church View has to offer.

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Seaham to be a part of it.”

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Church View will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.  The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
