Hinton Grange care home invites people in Cambridge to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Hinton Grange care home in Cambridge, is inviting local people to visit the home on Bullen Close on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2.30pm-4.15pm, the team at Hinton Grange will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

In honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday, there will be right royal celebration at Hinton Grange on Friday. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a strawberry tea, complete with homemade cakes, and all those who drop by on the day will also have the opportunity to meet the Care UK team at Hinton Grange and take a tour of the care home.

Linda Martinez, home manager at Hinton Grange, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Hinton Grange has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Cambridge to be a part of it.” 

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Hinton Grange will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.  The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
