Summer arrives in Eye for Care Home Open Day

Residents at Hartismere Place welcomed local people for a summer garden party to celebrate Care Home Open Day.

Hartismere Place was one of thousands of care homes across the UK to take part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.

Residents and visitors enjoyed a summer fete of traditional games and activities including a hook-a-duck game, croquet, and a coconut shy, while entertainment from local singer, Deano, got everyone into the party spirit.

Angela Hodge, customer relations manager at Hartismere Place, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day is a particular highlight each year as it is a brilliant opportunity to showcase our home and celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. 

“This year’s event was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community. We hope that all our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did and look forward to welcoming them back to the home for events in the future.”
