Asterbury Place was one of thousands of care homes across the UK to take part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
Residents and visitors enjoyed taking part in a range of craft activities including, a flower wreath workshop, painting and friendship bracelet making.
A host of entertainment got everyone into the party spirit, with music from local group, the Ricochet Band and a cabaret performance from Ipswich School of Dancing.
Angela Delarmente, deputy home manager at Asterbury Place, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day is a particular highlight each year as it is a brilliant opportunity to showcase our home and celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike.
“This year’s event was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links within the local community. We hope that all our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did and look forward to welcoming them back to the home for events in the future.”
