On Saturday 21st April, from 10.45am-4pm, the team at Bowes House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Bowes House has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, guests will be able to sing-along with a live performance from entertainment group Full Beam Productions. Younger visitors will enjoy a special performance from local magician Robbie Gold. The team will be serving traditional afternoon tea, including cucumber sandwiches and jam scones with cream along with a Queen’s birthday cake competition and a cake sale. In the home’s garden, visitors will be able to browse at a pop up clothes shop, and treat themselves to homemade jams candles, cakes and more at the other stalls open throughout the day.
Helena Barrow, home manager at Bowes House, said: “At Bowes House, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that our home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Hailshamfor what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
