On Saturday 21st April, from 10am-4pm, the team at Chandler Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Chandler Court has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a special visit from two beautiful therapy ponies, who will perform a display fit for a Queen. There will be an Australian themed barbecue and Chandler Court will also receive a special visit from the children at Redditch Basketball Club who will be showcasing their basketball skills.
There will also be interactive sports sessions, weightlifting and ‘Guess the weight of the cake’ game. The day will be topped off with live musical entertainment from JDR Trio, finishing a day of celebration with a royal performance of ‘Happy Birthday’.
Joanne Gill, home manager at Chandler Court, said: “Care Home Open Day provides residents and the Care UK team with a fantastic opportunity to welcome the local community in to home. There is already a buzz around the home, as residents prepare for the big day. We hope that the people of Bromsgrove will join us in celebrating the Queen’s birthday and making this year’s Care Home Open Day one to remember.”
