On Friday 20th April, from 2pm-4pm the team at Cheviot Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Cheviot Court has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include traditional 1940s street party celebrations and several performances from Cheviot Court residents including a Geordie show and a special performance from the residents’ choir. Visitors can also enjoy complimentary refreshments and a Geordie buffet. Visitors will also have a chance to meet Cheviot Court’s friendly team members.
Louise Damms, home manager at Cheviot Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Cheviot Court has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of South Shields for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
