On Friday 20th April, from 11am-3pm, the team at Hollins Park will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Hollins Park has organised a party to celebrate the open day, “A Day at Blackpool seaside” themed event, including sand, water and illuminations. There will be a special visit from Gail Mitchell who will bring along two ponies at 11am. Refreshments will include traditionally British snacks and a fish and chips lunch.
The will also be live music in the afternoon from an accordion player and a ukulele player as well as a special visit from local MP David Rutley.
Tracy Norbury, home manager at Hollins Park said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Hollins Park has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Macclesfield for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
