Join Pinetum for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Home news

Pinetum is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 20th April, from 1.30pm-4pm, the team at Pinetum will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Pinetum care home has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a special visit from the students at Kings School. There will also be traditional high tea, including strawberry jam scones with cream, cucumber sandwiches and Victoria sponge cake. The home promises fun for all the family, with a royal photo booth, a “royal bingo” and “Pin the crown on the Queen”.

To top off the day of celebration, there will be an award ceremony for the ‘Pinetum Commonwealth Games’.

Sally Cooper, home manager at Pinetum, said: “We’ve already had a brilliant start to the year at Pinetum, and our Care Home Open Day celebrations are set to be a real highlight. The day is all about enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the community, so what better excuse to invite the people of Chester to the home than to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

“The residents are looking forward to decorating the home fit for a queen, and we cannot wait to open our doors for this royal celebration.”
