On Friday 20th April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at The Potteries will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, The Potteries has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, guests will be able to enjoy a Windsor Castle themed garden party with live entertainment from 1940s duo, the Land Girls. Visitors will also be able to sample a selection of traditional afternoon tea treats.
Zita Jones, home manager at The Potteries, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything The Potteries has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Poole for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
