Heatherbrook celebrates another successful Care Home Open Day

Company news

It was a day fit for a queen at Heatherbrook when it opened its doors to the community for a day of celebrations.

The team at Heatherbrook welcomed the people of Romford to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.

Residents and visitors raised a glass to the Queen on her 92nd birthday and commemorated the day with a royal-inspired party. Children from Mawney Foundation School joined in with the celebrations and put on a special musical performance which guests, residents and visitors alike were delighted to receive.

Guests also enjoyed making some four legged friends with a special visit from Blackwater Pygmy Goats.

William Holmes, home manager at Heatherbrook, said: “We had a fantastic day celebrating Care Home Open Day this year – I think it might just be our best yet! The pygmy goats in particular proved a massive hit.

“It was wonderful to see so many of our neighbours join us for the occasion and we hoped they enjoyed the day as much as we all did. We’d like to say a big thank you to Mawney Foundation School and Blackwater Pygmy Goats for making the day extra special.”
