Take a trip down memory lane at Field Lodge

Home news

Field Lodge is inviting local people to a unique event, designed to benefit individuals living with dementia.

On Sunday 3rd June from 2pm-4pm, Field Lodge is opening its doors for a free event full of stimulating and fun activities to encourage reminiscence.

Alison Naylor, community projects officer at Norris Museum, will be leading the interactive afternoon with local artefacts from the museum’s own collection. Activities will include discussions around a selection of items from the 1940s-1970s, craft sessions including rug making, and the chance to read aloud from a choice of popular books and magazines.

Linda Martinez, homemanager at Field Lodge, said: “The residents really enjoy talking about their younger years, which is why we thought it would be wonderful to open our doors and bring together like-minded people in the local community for an afternoon of reminiscence.

“While we’ve hosted many community advice events in the past, this is the first time we’ve done an event on this topic and there is already a lot of buzz around the home in anticipation.

“We’re delighted that Alison will be joining us and hope to see lots of local people for what promises to be an interesting and inspiring afternoon.”
