The team at The Potteries welcomed the people of Poole to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
Residents and visitors raised a glass to the Queen on her 92nd birthday with a royal-inspired party. To commemorate the day, the team hosted a special indoor garden party with live entertainment from 1940s duo, the Land Girls.
Afterwards, everyone tucked into a delicious afternoon tea which was prepared specially by the home’s chefs.
Zita Turner, home manager at The Potteries, said: “We had a brilliant time celebrating the Queen’s 92ndbirthday at our Care Home Open Day event this year.
“It was fantastic to see so many of our neighbours join us for the occasion, and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did! We would like to say a big thank you to the people of Poole for celebrating with us and making the day so special.”
