From 11.30am - 3pm, local people are invited to drop into the care home for Suffolk Day, which will celebrate all things great about the county, from its stunning countryside and local produce, to welcoming communities and heritage.
Hartismere Place residents will be joined by teams from the nine other Care UK homes in Suffolk who will all have a stall at the event, showcasing arts and crafts and sweet treats made by the homes’ residents.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary will also be bringing along various birds of prey to meet the residents and visitors at the event. Musical entertainment will be provided by Year Two pupils from St Peter and St Paul Primary School in Eye, as well as local band, Beaten Track, who will keep everyone in the party spirit throughout the day.
For younger guests there will be lots of outdoor fun in the home’s game corner, as well as an ice cream stall selling tasty treats from local producers.
Matthew Calver, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: “Our Suffolk Day event is a great opportunity to invite the local community to join us for a day of family-friendly fun for all ages. There is a real buzz around the care home already, with preparations now well underway.
“We are part of a strong community here in Suffolk, not only with local people and organisations, but as a wider care home network with our neighboring Care UK homes. Days like this are a great way of bringing us all together for fun, laughter and to celebrate all that our wonderful county has to offer with the people who make it the place it is.
“We look forward to welcoming the community to join us for what promises to be a fantastic day of fun and games.”
