On Friday 30th November, from 10am-4pm, Field Lodge is inviting local people to book appointments with an independent financial expert, to talk about the number of funding options available to them.
Nicky Cave, financial advisor and managing director of Eldercare Solutions, will host a series of 30-minute sessions where she will discuss the various benefits loved ones may be entitled to, explain the associated financial jargon, and answer any questions individuals may have.
After each allocated appointment, there will also be the opportunity to meet the friendly team at Field Lodge, as well as take a closer look at the care home.
Field Lodge home manager, Linda Martinez, said: “We know how difficult it can be for people moving their loved one into a care environment, and there is a lot to consider. Here at Field Lodge, we want to make the process as stress-free as possible and provide families with the tools they need to make an informed decision when the time comes.
“We regularly host free advice events at the care home, however this is the first time we’ve held a financial support event in this format – so we’re really hoping local people will take advantage of this independent service on offer. Nicky is brilliant at what she does so we’re delighted she is joining us for the event.”
Nicky added: “It’s not uncommon for families to go into auto-pilot when placing their loved one in care, and often they don’t consider the long-term funding of the decision. My aim of these appointments is to support families and ensure they are able to consider all of the options available to them – many of which they may never have heard of.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team at Field Lodge and meeting the people of St Ives, for what I hope will be some really helpful, informative sessions.”
