On Thursday 25th July from 2pm - 4pm, the community is invited to come along to Jubilee House care home to its ‘Listen, Talk, Connect’ event.
The event is being held during the home’s monthly dementia café event, and locals will get the chance to hear dementia experts share helpful tips about enhancing communication with a loved one.
Visitors can also pick up a free copy of Care UK’s ‘Listen, Talk, Connect’ guide, as well as share experiences with other families caring for a loved one living with dementia.
The café runs from 2pm - 4pm on the last Thursday of every month with no charge, and no need to book.
Totka Zhelyazkova, home manager at Jubilee House, said: “At Jubilee House, we strive to create a sense of belonging within the home and provide a positive impact on the local community by building support systems for our neighbours. We aim to create a cheerful environment at the café where everyone will feel comfortable to share their stories.
“We believe that no carer should feel that they are alone, so we’re looking forward to welcoming some new faces for a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.”
