‘Round of a-paws’ for local dogs at a Milner House

Home news

Milner House opened its doors for a barking mad event.

Local dog-owners from Leatherhead and further afield were invited to Milner House to showcase their beloved pooch’s skills during the home’s first-ever Fun Dog Show with Horton Dogs.

On the day, local people were invited to enter several categories, including ‘lookalike’, ‘best story about your dog’, and ‘best trick’ contests, and to take part in a special ‘have a go agility’ workshop.

There was also an array of stalls to browse and dog groomers were on hand to offer tailored advice to guests and their four-legged friends.

Home manager at Milner House, Joe Patterson, said: “Our first-ever Fun Dog Show was a roaring success, and it was great to welcome so many dogs and owners from Leatherhead and the surrounding areas. Some of the skills on display throughout the day were truly impressive, and we’re already looking forward to our next event.

“Everyone at the home, especially residents, loved having so many dogs around. Being close to animals can help enhance a person’s mood and stimulate social interaction, and the dogs were brilliant at doing just that. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us and made our first Fun Dog Show such a memorable day.”
