Snowdrop House celebrates talented local youngsters

Home news

Snowdrop House is delighted to announce the winners of its artwork competition with schools across the town.

Snowdrop House invited local schools to submit their Alice in Wonderland themed drawings into their Art in Care competition, which they hosted as part of celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

Each entry was displayed around the home for Snowdrop House’s Alice in Wonderland art-themed party, which was held to highlight the role of arts in care. Residents, relatives and visitors to the home were able to secretly vote for theirfavouritepiece of artwork at the event, and they crowned students from Thundridge Primary School as the worthy winners.

The awards ceremony took place at the school, where the team from Snowdrop House presented their creative winners with an art hamper and a collection of crafty supplies

Clare Crow, home manager at Snowdrop House, commented: “The Art in Care competition has been a huge success, and we were delighted to have such a fantastic response from local schools.

“The children’s artwork certainly brightened up the walls of our home and brought a smile to residents’ faces. They loved seeing the children’s interpretation of Wonderland and deciding which was their favourite. Thundridge Primary School certainly has some budding young artists, and we’d like to thank them again for their wonderful efforts.”
