Milner House in Leatherhead is inviting the local community to a free event for those wanting to find out more about keeping themselves or a loved one safe while living at home.
On Tuesday 29th October, from 2.30pm-4.30pm, the Care UK team at Milner House, on Ermyn Way, will open the doors to the care home for its ‘Scam and fraud awareness’ event.
Milner House’s customer relations manager and National Trading Standards scam champion, Roy Booth, will be on hand to deliver an informative session on how to stay safe at home. He will also offer expert information on fraud awareness and reporting a scam.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, refreshments and an opportunity to meet the team at Milner House, as well as take a closer look at the care home.
Home manager, Joe Patterson, said: “Here at Milner House, we understand that providing advice and guidance on the importance of staying safe on the internet and at home can be incredibly helpful for everyone, but especially for older people, as they are often targeted by scams and cold calling.
“We are lucky to have Roy in our team, who can provide professional guidance in this area, and we hope local people will take the opportunity to benefit from his expertise.”
The three-storey care home, which features 47 ensuite bedrooms, has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, and also has a hairdressing salon and café.
