A care home in Chelsea is celebrating after one of its team members was recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 120 care homes nationwide across Care UK.
Chad Bain, team member at Ellesmere House, on Nightingale Place, walked away with the Nurse of the Year award, one of 20 accolades handed out during the event.
Described as ‘inspirational’, Chad was praised by the judges for his in-depth knowledge of the residents’ clinical needs and his devotion. However, it was his commitment and exceptional work ethic, as he constantly aims to go above and beyond his duties, which judges felt set him apart from competitors in the category.
Deliana Katsiaounis, regional director for Care UK central London, said: “The RCS award ceremony was a truly inspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
“Chad is the epitome of what all nurses should aspire to be, and his commitment to residents and work ethic are fantastic. We are incredibly lucky to have him in our team, and I’m so pleased his efforts have been recognised.
“I would like to thank Chad and the rest of the team for all their hard work in making Ellesmere House a wonderful place to live for all residents – every single person is such a valuable part of the team and I really appreciate their commitment to the home.”
Ellesmere House has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
