‘Outstanding’ Ipswich care home celebrates national award win

Home news

A care home in Ipswich is celebrating after it was recognised at a national awards ceremony.

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 120 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.

Asterbury place, on Aster Road, took home the award for Most Improved Home, one of 20 accolades handed out during the event.

The panel of judges praised the home for its sustained improvement over the past year, which has resulted in Asterbury Place being rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC. However, it was residents and relative’s acclamation of the team which judges felt set Asterbury Place apart from competitors in the category.

Commenting on the team’s approach, one relative said: “The team are dedicated and they know the job…they are putting their all in. They are lovely staff and they sit and talk to you. I am really impressed.”

Christine Da Silva, home manager at Asterbury Place, said: “The RCS award ceremony was a wonderful evening – it was brilliant to hear about the dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents.

“Here at Asterbury Place, we strive to create a warm, friendly environment where we can support residents to lead active and fulfilling lives.

“The team are extremely commited and I would like to thank each and every one of them for all their hard work, which I know is greatly appreciated by residents and their families.”

Asterbury Place is designed to deliver the very best standards of care, and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home offers a range of services including residential care, specialist dementia care and respite care.
