New care home searches for Bracknell’s local heroes

A new care home in Bracknell is asking the community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £500 cash prize.

Care UK’s Bickerton House, on Warfield Road, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.

The winner of the competition will receive £500 and be invited to the opening of Bracknell’s newest care home at its grand launch event in April 2020. There will also be two runners-up, with £200 for second place and £100 for third.

Erika Smith, home manager at Bickerton House, said: “We all know that one person who organises everything, is always there for others and never shies away from offering a helping hand – so here at Bickerton House we want to say thank you.

“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve.”

Opening January 2020, the purpose-built care home has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, and will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.

The marketing suite at Bickerton House is now open and locals are welcome to visit and take a look around the home.
