Horndean care home thanks local community for their support

Home news

Horndean care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Horndean has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Care UK’s Pear Tree Court, on Portsmouth Road, have expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Horndean over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Pear Tree Court was inundated with support, receiving care packages from Growing Places Nursery, as well as pizza from Domino’s in Cowplain, and a large delivery of food and health products from Savers, in Havant, for the care home.

The home has also welcomed three volunteers in recent months who have been sharing their spare time with residents, helping to keep everyone entertained by supporting the lifestyle team during their activities and working in the garden, including building a bird table.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative, team members at Pear Tree Court have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

David Taylor, home manager at Pear Tree Court, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months, whether that be through volunteering, sending tokens of appreciation, or preparing care packages for our team.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families. It really has kept everyone going.

“On behalf of everyone at Pear Tree Court, thank you so much.”
