Ware care home thanks local community for their support

Home news

Ware care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Ware has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from members of the community to its dedicated team.

Care UK’s Snowdrop House, on Baldock Street, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Ware over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Snowdrop House has been inundated with support, receiving drawings from local children and arts and craft supplies from relatives. Pizza arrived from Domino’s to treat team members, along with tokens of appreciation from Hanbury Manor and local branches of Tesco and Asda.

St Mary’s Church helped to organise a virtual service for residents, and hairdressing products were also delivered for a relaxing pamper session for everyone at the home from local families.

One of the younger members of the Ware community even donated her 10p pocket money, along with a drawing and biscuits for residents to enjoy. She regularly walks by the home with her family to wave to her new friends, bringing a smile to everyone at Snowdrop House.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or helping to organise a church service at the home, team members at Snowdrop House have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Clare Crow, home manager at Snowdrop House, said: “Everyone at Snowdrop House is incredibly grateful for the kindness shown by the Ware community.

“From drawing pictures to sending us delicious cakes, we are truly thankful for your support.

“The team and residents at Snowdrop House are looking forward to thanking everyone in person for their gestures of goodwill when we are able to safely open our doors to the community once again.”

Snowdrop House delivers a full range of residential and nursing care for older people, including short-term respite care, and specialist care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
