A care home in Horndean is celebrating after an award win at a national ceremony.

Care UK’s Pear Tree Court, on Portsmouth Road, took first place in the ‘Care Establishment of the Year’ category in The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) Awards.

Proof is in the pudding for a Horndean care homeThe NACC Awards recognise those working in and associated with catering in the UK care sector. Pear Tree Court stood out because of its commitment to varied menus, high quality food and ensuring residents dine with dignity.

Head Chef at Pear Tree Court Stuart Passey and his team were praised by the judges for being passionate about using the best-quality ingredients, and tailoring menus and mealtimes to residents’ tastes and needs – this was reflected in a 98 percent resident satisfaction rating in a recent survey of the home. The judges commented: “Quality and personalisation are central to every aspect of care at Pear Tree Court”.

Stuart Passey, Head Chef at Pear Tree Court, said: “The team and I are incredibly proud to have taken a top spot at the NACC awards, we’re thrilled that our efforts have been recognised at a national level. Our whole team is very passionate about providing the very best dining experience for residents, from using high-quality ingredients to creating menus that are inventive and tasty.”

David Taylor, Home Manager at Pear Tree Court, added: “We’re delighted to have won this award, it demonstrates the hard work, care and thoughtfulness that the catering team put into the menus and every meal here at Pear Tree Court. To be recognised on a national level is absolutely fantastic.

Pear Tree Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
