Funding care explained – Essex care homes host free advice event

Two cares homes in Essex are inviting local people to join a free online event offering support for people considering care for their loved one.

On Wednesday 20th January, from 11am-12:30pm, the Care UK team at Silversprings care home, in Thorrington, and Colne View care home, in Halstead, will be hosting a free ‘Funding Care' event virtually.

Penny Griffiths, an accredited care funding specialist from Eldercare group, and Lorna Bastian from Aquabridge Law, will be on hand to deliver an informative session to help those caring for a loved one understand the options for funding long-term care, including how the care funding system works, and what state assistance may be available.

Joanne Rix, Home Manager at Silversprings, said: “Here at Silversprings, we understand that providing advice and guidance can be incredibly helpful for anyone considering the future care of a loved one, which is why we are delighted to host this virtual event.

“It is a privilege to be joined by Penny and Lorna, who can provide professional guidance in this area, and we hope local people will take this opportunity to benefit from their expertise.”

For anyone unsure about how to take part in the virtual event, help is at hand. The team at both homes will host the event using Zoom, an online meeting space. Simply call or email Customer Relations Managers, Lisa O’Sullivan or Kim Richardson, and they will let you know how to join the event and share tips to make the most out of the session.

Both Silversprings and Colne View provide full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care.
