A care home in Halstead is inviting the local community to its free, virtual event for families caring for those living with dementia.
On Wednesday 10th March, from 2pm - 3.30pm, local people are invited to attend a virtual Understanding Dementia event hosted by Care UK’s Colne View care home.
Dementia specialist, Dr Nori Graham, will be covering a number of topics to help people understand what it is like to live with dementia. There will also be support and practical advice on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers and discover positive approaches to living with the condition.
Razvan Stanbeca, Home Manager at Colne View, said: “We know that it can be challenging to look after a friend or relative living with dementia. It’s natural to feel confused about the best way to help your loved one, so our event aims to offer professional knowledge and insight to those who need it – as well as providing a hub for shared experiences.
“We want people to know they’re not alone, and we’re here to offer support. This event has proven popular in the past and we’re looking forward to welcoming local people for an inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
For anyone unsure about how to take part in the virtual event, help is at hand. The team at Colne View will host the event using Zoom, which is very easy to use. Simply call or email Senior Customer Relations Manager, Kim Richardson, and she will send a link to join the event and share her tips to make the most out of the session.
