Summer fun! Fareham care home invites local community to family fundraiser

Home news

A local care home is inviting the Fareham community to enjoy a family fun day to raise funds for a very good cause.

From 12.30pm-3.00pm on Saturday 13th of August, the Care UK team at Parker Meadows, on Parker View, will be hosting a summer party to support local charity, The Rainbow Centre.

The Rainbow Centre, based in Fareham, is a charity which supports children and adults affected by neurological conditions and helps them to live their lives to their fullest.

Designed to raise vital funds for the local charity, the summer party will see the community invited to enjoy summer drinks and fresh food straight from the barbecue, cooked by Parker Meadows Head Chef. There will also be family games, including a coconut shy, tin-can alley, tombola, face painting and a lucky dip, as well as live entertainment between 1pm-2pm.

There will also be a host of stalls to visit, from The Rainbow Centre, Mindfulofyou, Recapture Life and information on many other community services.

General Manager at Parker Meadows, Matthew Smith, said: “We are thrilled to be inviting the local community into the gardens at Parker Meadows for our special fundraising event. This is set to be a really wonderful event for all the family to enjoy.

“Here at Parker Meadows, we are keen to support local charities which share our ethos of supporting people to live fulfilling lives. We are thrilled to be supporting The Rainbows Centre so they can continue their much-needed work in the community.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming local people for an afternoon of family fun – you won’t want to miss this!”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Parker Meadows, which remains open to potential residents, incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The home provides full-time residential care, nursing care, dementia care and respite care in addition to Independent Living Bungalows. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
