It’s all in the name – local community invited to rename East Grinstead care home café after major refurbishment

A care home in East Grinstead is asking the community for their help to name its café as the home undergoes a renovation.

The team at Care UK’s Mill View, on Sunnyside Close, is calling for history enthusiasts and East Grinstead natives to help name its café within the home. The hope is that the name will reflect the uniqueness of the local area. 

The home is currently being refurbished to the highest standard is due to finish work in January. 

The community is being encouraged to share their suggestions based on East Grinstead’s history, local places, famous residents or another theme that will represent the community.

The lucky winner of the café naming competition will receive a £100 prize and be invited to officially open the café and cut the ribbon.

Trish Banks, Home Manager at Mill View, said: “Mill View is currently undergoing an exciting renovation which will see our home updated and create spaces which enhance residents wellbeing.

“We are thrilled to be inviting the community to name our brand-new café. East Grinstead is rich in history and I’m sure locals have countless stories to tell, we cannot wait to hear what the community thinks the café should be named.

“The café is a hub within our home for residents and team members, but also a hub within the community of East Grinstead – so whether you think the café should be named after famous residents or local beauty spots, we want to hear from you!”
