Knutsford care home raises £400 for local charity

Home news

A Knutsford care home has raised £400 for a local animal rescue service.

Throughout 2023, the team at Care UK’s Cranford Grange, on Hall Lane, raised funds for Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home, a local charity that cares for and rehomes Manchester and Cheshire’s unwanted dogs.

Throughout last year, the team and residents raised money through various events, including a summer fair.

The team visited Manchester and Cheshire Dog Home to award them with a cheque for £400, as well as gift them knitted blankets that were handmade by Gillian, one of the residents.

Jan Stewart from Manchester and Cheshire Dog Home was overwhelmed by the amount raised, she said: “It is only through the kindness and generosity of the public that we can continue to help and support the animals in our care.

“This donation is very much appreciated, especially in these uncertain times. The donation will go towards maintaining the health and wellbeing of our four-legged friends. On behalf of all the team and dogs thank you.”

Lisa Burrows, General Manager at Cranford Grange, said: “I want to thank everyone who helped with the fundraising efforts, from coordinating special events to those who donated funds. To be able to present the cheque and blankets to Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home was fantastic.

“Here at Cranford Grange, we strive to build relationships and be a part of the community through supporting good causes on our doorstep, especially those close to the hearts of the team and residents. Residents enjoy the sense of purpose that comes with making connections and supporting our four-legged friends.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Jan from Manchester and Cheshire Dog Home for welcoming us and we hope to see our new friends again soon.”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Cranford Grange incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The home provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
