A care home in Bristol took to the skies as it welcomed the local community to an uplifting event.

Care UK’s Ladden View, on Fletcher Road in Yate, hosted a special gathering that saw a hot air balloon lift off from the home’s garden.
The celebration took place ahead of the annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, and the team at Ladden View decided to bring a taste of the festival to the home.
Resident Jeanette Green, 83, said: ''It was brilliant! It was such a nice thing to have going on at the home, it’s not very often you get to see a hot air balloon so close.”
On the day, a local band performed classic hits from across the decades, with guests singing along while feasting on a traditional barbecue prepared by the home’s head chef.
The fun continued as guests and residents enjoyed a display of classic cars including prestige Morgans from Williams Automobiles.
Sarah Daly, Home Manager at Ladden View, said: “Our balloon fiesta was a huge success. We love hosting exciting events that bring us closer to the local community and this one really soared!
“It was great to watch everyone gather as the balloon took to the skies. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Southern Plasticlad who donated the hot air balloon, and everyone who came along to make the event one to remember.”
Ladden View is a new, state-of the-art care home providing full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the home has its very own cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub, along with plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
