Epsom care home to invite community to charity music night

A care home in Epsom is opening its doors to the local community for a magical night of live music to raise money for charity.

 

On Saturday 30^th August from 5.30pm-8.30pm, Care UK’s Appleby House on Longmead Road, is inviting local people to dance the night away in aid of Musical Memories and Love Me Love My Mind. 

On the night, guests will enjoy live performances from singers James Schouten, Barbara Christopher, and Darren Watkins, who will perform a host of Opera, Jazz and Swing music. Those attending will also be treated to a delicious buffet prepared by Appleby House’s talented Head Chef, Maya Manoj. 

 Musical Memories delivers stimulating and fun singing lessons for people living with dementia. Meanwhile, Love Me Love My Mind, based in Epsom, aims to promote better understanding of mental health and to support the wellbeing of the community. 

Shona Bradbury, Home Manager at Appleby House, said: “We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome the local community to join us for our charity music night. 

“Music is an important part of life here at Appleby House. Singing and dancing can evoke powerful memories for older people, especially those living with dementia, so we couldn’t be prouder to support charities like Musical Memories and Love Me Love My Mind.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone along for what promises to be a fantastic event to end the summer.” 

Appleby House has been designed to encourage residents to live active and fulfilling lives, while remaining as independent as possible in a safe environment. The modern care home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.
