Welcome to Appleby House

Our award-winning care home in Epsom, Surrey, has a far-reaching reputation for its innovative approach to older people’s care, including dementia care.

We find out all we can about your loved one’s interests, needs and values so we can match them to a suite in the home where they can be with likeminded people.

Appleby House is a care home like no other. We’re always finding new ways to enhance every day for residents, whether it’s creating our very own ice-cream parlour or adding a barber shop and nail bar to our hair salon. We even have our own art studio and gallery where we display beautiful artworks created by residents.

We are proud to have been internally accredited with the evidence-based, person-centered Care Fit for VIPS.

We are proud to be accredited with the Gold Standards Framework Care Homes Programme. This demonstrates our skill and commitment to delivering high quality, person-centred care to residents at the end of their life.

You name it, at Appleby House care home, we do it. Afternoon teas, pub lunches, tea dances, outings, veg and sunflower growing, music, exercise and art… There's so much to do at our Epsom care home that the challenge is deciding what to do first.

As home manager I’m passionate about providing the best possible care to residents to enhance their lives. I love involving residents and my team in how things are run. I believe my role is to lead by example to create a good culture at Appleby House. It’s my job to motivate staff and promote their development through training and supervision. I thrive on working with my team to drive improvement – stretching them and seeing positive change happen.

The staff are so genuine, so sincere, so dedicated! It surprises me every time I visit, and I go a few times each week. It is truly astonishing how committed they are to their job and how loving they are - so respectful to the residents - it’s a really beautiful thing to see and I certainly haven’t seen that in other care homes.

The staff are exceptional! My relative is so happy, her condition has even improved, which is rare with Alzheimer’s. There is an empashis on autonomy combined with a great deal of sincere respect, affection and kindness for each and every resident. They understand my relative, they pay attention to her moods and they know exactly how to reassure her if she is anxious or upset.

It’s a lovely place for family and friends to visit. It's full of life in there and there is always something going on… they have lots of activities including music, artsy stuff, quizzes, and the food is amazing.
