New nursing suite opens at Poole home to elevate standards of care

A care home in Poole has celebrated the opening of its renovated nursing suite, launching a new chapter in personalised care.

The team and residents at Care UK’s The Potteries, on York Road in Broadstone, gathered for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially reopen the 2nd floor– home of the dedicated nursing suite.

The refurbished area, named Aegean Suite, will provide premium nursing care for older people in Poole and the surrounding area.

Residents’ every comfort has been considered throughout this upgrade. The new suite now offers a separate lounge and dining area with an open-plan design, which allows the residents to share meals together, take part in activities or simply relax.

Resident Valerie Kempton had the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially declare the renovated nursing suite open.

She said: “The new look of the suite is marvellous and so welcoming, I love coming to the dining room and socialising with other residents, Zita has an eye for detail, and everything matches and looks beautiful!"

Zita Turner, Home Manager at The Potteries, said: “We have built a warm, welcoming community here at the home and we are delighted about this refurbishment, which will enable us to continue to provide the highest standards of personalised care.

“We love celebrating these exciting milestones for the home with the residents. Seeing the joy on everyone's faces as they explore the new space makes all the hard work worthwhile.

“We’d like to thank everyone who made this refurbishment possible, as well as the residents and their families for their patience during the work.”

The Potteries offers full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The home has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilling lives in a luxury environment, and also boasts plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
