A care home in Beverley has opened its doors for a day of summer fun.

Care UK’s Chapter House, on Keldgate, welcomed residents, their families and the local community to its end-of-summer fete, complete with stalls, games and special guests from Furry Friends Animal Therapy, including a lizard and a snake.
As part of the afternoon’s festivities, guests were treated to a live performance from two-piece band LesMick Duo, who performed a range of classic songs.
There was also entertainment from magician and balloon artist Ray Burrell, plus plenty of lawn games and a tombola. Guests feasted on hot dogs, cream scones and Pimm’s prepared by the home’s Head Chef.
Chapter House resident, Christine, said: “It was a lovely, relaxing day, and it was great to see everyone together, enjoying themselves. The magician was a great success with the visiting children.’
Matthew Justice, Customer Relations Manager at Chapter House, said: "It was a brilliant day. From the animals to the music to the games, there was something for everyone.
“It was lovely to see so many people from the local community join us for a day of fun and laughter.”
Chapter House offers full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair and beauty salon and café. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
