Bromsgrove care home toasts anniversary

A care home in Bromsgrove has marked eight years since its opening in style.  

It was party time at Care UK’s Chandler Court, on Recreation Road, as residents and team members welcomed a host of performers to toast the special milestone. 

On the day, AG Magicians, a father and son duo, helped raise the roof with a memorable comedy routine, featuring unique magical tricks and stunts. 

Guests were also treated to a tasty strawberries and cream cake, complete with an assortment of tasty cupcakes to match, specially prepared by the home’s head chef. 

Betty Daplyn, a resident at Chandler Court, said: “It was the best party we have had here at Chandler Court, the entertainment was very funny. They had us all in stitches and the cake looked beautiful and tasted delicious.”

Dorothy Pye, Home Manager at Chandler Court, said: “We’ve had a magical time celebrating our eighth birthday; it’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade since we first opened our doors!

“The past eight years have been filled with fantastic moments for everyone at the home, from organising storytelling sessions with our neighbouring schools to making incredible resident wishes come true. We certainly have no plans to slow down as we look ahead to creating more memorable experiences for residents over the next eight years and beyond! 

“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated team for making Chandler Court a wonderful place to call home – this was certainly a birthday party to remember.”

Chandler Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema, café and hair salon, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
