Quorn care home retains crown as one of the best in the region

A care home in Quorn has been recognised as one of the best in the East Midlands by the UK’s leading care home review website for the sixth year running.

Carehome.co.uk celebrates excellence in care with its annual Care Home Awards, and this year has seen Care UK’s Lonsdale Mews retain its title as one of the top 20 in the region.

The prestigious awards honour homes that have received outstanding reviews from those who matter most: residents, service users and their families and friends.

With a score of 10 – the highest possible rating – 100% of reviewers for Lonsdale Mews rated the care home as ‘excellent’.

One review said: “Mum has thrived at Lonsdale Mews since moving in nearly three years ago, following a difficult time after my father's passing. She often comments how lucky she is, how happy she in the home, how all the staff are so kind and helpful and thanks me for finding such a nice place. I second all those comments!”

Another review said: “’I am walking unaided again' exclaimed our father just 3 days after arriving at Lonsdale Mews. He was flourishing in the wonderful caring community Lonsdale Mews is with its haute cuisine, airy private rooms, quiet lounges, buoyant staff and stimulating events programme. There is always a lovely, upbeat buzz about the place. Staff are clearly passionate and very expert professionals in their roles.”

The Farley Way home is known for its commitment to enabling residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. It provides daily group and one-to-one activities, monthly friendship cafés and a Wishing Tree initiative that encourages residents to put forward their desires to reconnect with a past hobby or try something new.

This is the second major award win for Lonsdale Mews in just a few weeks, as the team recently celebrated another national accolade for one of its team members. Lisa Rowan was named Team Leader of the Year at the Care UK Stars Awards 2026 – a ceremony that celebrates individual and team excellence at more than 250 care homes across the UK.  During the event, judges praised her natural leadership abilities and proactive approach to care, as well as her commitment to residents’ wellbeing.

Jo Davison, Home Manager at Lonsdale Mews, said: “We’re forever grateful for the trust families place in us, and I’m over the moon to find out that we remain in the top 20 care homes in the East Midlands.

"This award is a real team effort. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to deliver the highest possible standards of care day in, day out, for more than six years. We’ve built something really special here, and I’m thankful to each and every one who makes Lonsdale Mews a place so many are proud to call home.

“A big thank you to the team; we can’t wait to celebrate this one!”

Lonsdale Mews offers full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The home incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
