Residents at a care home in Ware have enjoyed a page-turning day with some special visitors.
Kingshill Infant School pupils joined those at Care UK’s Snowdrop House, on Baldock Street, for an intergenerational storytelling session.

The children brought along their favourite books, which residents Kath Sexton and Joan Ash then read to the group.
Resident Kath Sexton, 104, said: “The storytelling session was very nice indeed. The children were very polite and well behaved and seemed very interested in the stories.
“In my generation, children didn't get the chance to attend events like this, so it's nice that today's children can spend time with us. They also have access to more types of media, so it's important to keep them reading as this is passed down through generations.
“I'm very fond of and was impressed by the schoolchildren and I really enjoyed reading to them – I'd be more than happy to do it again, any time!”
The event created a lively atmosphere – with the children asking plenty of questions throughout.
Clare Crow, Home Manager at Snowdrop House, said: “We were thrilled to welcome the pupils from Kingshill Infant School for a storytelling session.
“It was wonderful to watch residents reading the children’s favourite books aloud and see the children’s eyes light up. Moments like these really highlight how shared reading can bring generations together.
“It was a truly heartwarming afternoon and we’re already looking forward to hosting more sessions like this – there's nothing quite like seeing the joy a good book can bring!”
