Copthorne care home supports local charity for older people

A new care home in Copthorne has made a generous donation to a local charity dedicated to supporting the carers of individuals living with dementia.

To celebrate its upcoming opening on Borers Arms Road in winter 2026, Care UK’s Francis Court presented the Forget Me Nots (Crawley) with a £500 donation. 

The organisation holds weekly lunches for carers in Crawley and the surrounding areas, bringing together communities to combat loneliness. The events hold space for members to come along with or without the person they care for, enjoy an uninterrupted few hours’ sit down, a meal, join in with a quiz, watch entertainment and meet up with friends.

Beyond the donation, Francis Court is committed to fostering long-term connections with the community. Once open, the care home will host regular events for nearby locals to join in with, offering residents opportunities to engage with local people, culture and activities, from the comfort of a new care home.

Contributions like this make a real difference in helping us support carers in our community, giving them valuable time to relax, connect with others and feel supported. It’s wonderful to see a new care home already investing in local people and we look forward to building a strong relationship together in the future.”

Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Francis Court will incorporate plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
