A care home in Fareham has stepped up for a day of fundraising fun to support those affected by brain, spine and nerve disorders.
Residents and team members at Parker Meadows, on Redlands Lane, strolled their way to success and raised an impressive £140 for Wessex Neurological Centre.

The participants, aged 76 to 91, completed the sponsored walk along the seafront of Southsea, enjoying the recent sunshine.
Resident Marjorie Muvie, aged 91, said: “What an enjoyable day! And all in aid of such a wonderful cause.”
Wessex Neurological Centre provides care and support to those who live with a range of conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. The centre is close to the hearts of those at Parker Meadows, as some residents have been diagnosed with these conditions.
Lukasz Mikolaj Irzabek, Home Manager at Parker Meadows, said: “We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part in our sponsored walk. It was a real team effort and the atmosphere was fantastic all day long.
“Wessex Neurological Centre supports so many people and families across the south of England, and we wanted to do our part to help make a difference. The challenge gave us a chance to come together, have fun and raise money for a cause that means a lot to so many of us.
“The generosity and enthusiasm shown by everyone here have been amazing. We’re so grateful to everyone who walked, donated or cheered us on!”
Parker Meadows provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The home incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities in addition to independent-living bungalows on site. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge and dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
