Ferndown care home tastes award success

Residents and team members at a care home in Ferndown are celebrating after winning a prestigious accolade.

Care UK’s Ferndown Manor, on Golf Links Road, was crowned the winner in the ‘innovation in care’ category at this year’s Dorset Care Awards 2026, which recognise and reward excellence in UK care home management, operation and delivery.

The award comes after the team implemented advanced care planning to help healthcare professionals make decisions about residents’ care in times of emergency, when their health deteriorates or when they are unable to communicate their preferences. 

The goal is to provide high-quality care that aligns with residents' preferences during situations that could lead to hospitalisation, ensuring their comfort and values are considered.

Ferndown Manor provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. The home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, including its own café, hair and beauty salon and cinema.
