Isleworth care home manager wins national award

A care home in Isleworth is in high spirits after one of its team members was recognised with a national accolade.

Hannah Carrera, Unit Manager at Care UK’s Charlotte House on Snowy Fielder Waye, was named best palliative care manager across both the residential and nursing care categories at the 2026 Palliative Care Awards.

Presented by Kate Garraway, the awards ceremony recognised individuals and organisations delivering outstanding, person-led end-of-life and palliative care.

Hannah has worked at Charlotte House for six years and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure residents receive compassionate, high-quality care tailored to their individual needs. She won the award after demonstrating exceptional leadership and creating a positive, supportive environment for both residents and colleagues.

Hannah said: “I am incredibly honoured to receive this award. Providing high-quality palliative care is something I am deeply passionate about, and it is a privilege to support residents and their families during such an important stage of their lives.

“This recognition reflects the dedication and compassion of the entire team at Charlotte House. We work together to ensure every resident receives personalised care, comfort and dignity, and I am proud to be part of a team that strives to make a positive difference every day.”

Elisabeta Carmen Surligeanu, Home Manager at Charlotte House, added: “I am delighted to see Hannah rewarded for her commitment to delivering exceptional palliative care and for the positive impact she has on the lives of residents and their families.

“Everyone here is incredibly proud of this achievement. Hannah leads with compassion, empathy and professionalism, ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care while supporting loved ones through every step of their journey.”

Charlotte House has been designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence. The expert team provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, and incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies.
