Residents at a care home in Newbury have had a baa-rilliant time with some adorable and playful visitors.
Care UK’s Newbury Grove, on London Road, welcomed two pygmy goats from The Little Goat Co.

Jojo and Monty were a big hit, with residents given the chance to meet and learn all about their personalities, favourite foods and how to look after them.
The pair were treated to plenty of strokes, cuddles and treats along the way. For many, the experience brought back happy memories of farm life and time spent with animals.
Resident Audrey Blackford said: “They were so lovely and friendly. Visits like this do you the power of good, it’s like therapy.”
Adarsh Kurian, Home Manager at Newbury Grove, added: “There was no shortage of smiles and laughter after we welcomed the goats into the home.
“Spending time with animals has been shown to have many therapeutic benefits for older people, particularly for those living with dementia, as it helps lower anxiety and creates relaxing endorphins. Jojo and Monty did exactly that, while also spreading laughter and smiles around our home.
“We would like to thank The Little Goat Co for the special visit and we look forward to welcoming the pair again.”
Newbury Grove has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, and incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, with facilities including a cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub.
