Our Team

Lindsay Barclay
Lindsay Barclay
Lifestyle Lead
Before my role here, I was an early years teacher.

My classroom experience shares many features with this position, and both require patience, kindness and compassion. You also need to be very organised and a good listener.

I love spending time with residents and creating activities they all enjoy. To bring everything together, teamwork and cooperation is so important; we have a great team here. It has also been such a highlight to connect with the local school and nursery and bring intergenerational activities to Arkall Manor.

Outside of work, I spend my time with my family and dogs. As a hobby, I like to create handmade cards and jewellery. I also enjoy painting watercolours and reading.

Receptionist
The most important part of my role as Receptionist is to provide a warm and friendly welcome to everyone who walks through our doors.

To do that, you need to be friendly, polite and professional. You also need to genuinely want to help people.

My favourite part of the day is meeting and greeting people. It is always nice to see relatives and visitors and show prospective residents around Arkall Manor.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening and yoga.

Anne Randle
Anne Randle
Head Housekeeper
I have worked in healthcare for over 35 years and have had training in infection prevention control and health and safety.

I am really proud of my role here, knowing that the home is kept to a high standard.

Working in care means you need to have patience and empathy. Leading a team also means you need to be organised and have good communication skills. I think it is important to be honest and transparent too.

The best part of the day for me is seeing the residents, connecting with them and finding out about what they love. It is lovely knowing that we make a positive difference and can make residents smile.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and walking my cocker spaniel. I like to watch crime and investigation programmes as well.

Maintenance
I was previously Maintenance Manager for another care provider, so I bring lots of experience and transferrable skills.

I have had health and safety training and have qualifications in plumbing, carpentry, plastering and tiling.

In this role, you need to be organised, proactive and hard working. I think you need good attention to detail too, and be able to prioritise and manage a varied workload. You never know what the day will bring, so it is good to be prepared.

I would say the most important part of my job is to make sure the building and grounds are safe and well maintained for everyone. It always makes me proud when we receive positive feedback from residents and their families about how lovely Arkall Manor is.

I spend my free time with my family; I also enjoy cooking.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide.
