Maria Stancu

As a registered nurse with 10 years of experience in the care industry, I oversee clinical care delivery, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and support both residents and colleagues in achieving the highest quality of care.

What brings me joy is the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how small. Seeing residents achieve their goals, whether that is regaining independence or simply finding moments of happiness, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our team plays a part in their journey is priceless and fuels my passion for this work every day.

To me, ‘Care from the Heart’ means providing support that goes beyond the technical aspects of the role. It is about empathy, compassion, and truly understanding the needs of each individual. It means treating residents as if they were family, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and happiness are always at the forefront of everything we do.

I believe my impact lies in fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork. By leading by example and supporting my colleagues, I aim to continually enhance the standard of care we provide. Looking ahead, I hope to further develop initiatives that strengthen team collaboration and ensure our home remains a place where everyone can thrive.

I have more than 10 years' experience in residential and dementia care and hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Having started my career as a Healthcare Assistant, I have progressed through roles including Dementia Care Manager and Residential Manager before becoming Deputy Manager at Belmont House. I'm passionate about helping residents achieve their goals and ensuring they receive the same standard of care I would want for my own family. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and animals, including horses, ducks, sheep and chickens.

I have over 12 years of experience as a Head Chef in care settings and hold a degree in Nutrition.

I enjoy creating nutritious, creative meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to residents while supporting their wellbeing. Outside work, I enjoy travelling, trying cuisines from different cultures and spending time with family.

I begun my nursing career in the Philippines, graduating magna cum laude and placing 6th in the national Nursing Licensure Examination.

I bring a wealth of experience across hospital, administration, and education, which has shaped his holistic and person-centred approach to care.

Since relocating to the UK in 2018, I have developed strong expertise in dementia care, progressing from Dementia Lead into his current role as Clinical Lead. I believe that exceptional care goes beyond clinical tasks, rooted in empathy, compassion, and genuine human connection. By leading with integrity and kindness, I foster a supportive culture where residents feel valued, families feel reassured, and staff feel empowered to deliver outstanding care.

Hearing residents' stories and helping wherever I can make my role especially meaningful. Outside work, I enjoy travelling, reading, dining out and spending time with family.

Knowing that our residents feel safe, comfortable and cared for is what motivates me each day. Outside work, I enjoy walking my Labrador, spending time with family and supporting our family football club.

With 20 years of experience in care home maintenance, I enjoy the variety that each day brings and love finding practical solutions that make life easier for residents.

Seeing residents happy with the work I do is incredibly rewarding. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, following sport and visiting the theatre.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
