Collingwood Court is a modern, purpose-built care home in Chirton. Our friendly and welcoming team provide personalised residential and respite care including those who are living with dementia.

At Collingwood Court we work hard to ensure our care home feels like a comfortable home-from-home where residents can relax and enjoy doing the things they love. Residents’ bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with en-suite facilities, stylish furniture, a 24-hour care call system and television and telephone connections.

Some of the rooms on our ground floor even open onto our lovely established gardens. Your loved one is also free to personalise their room in any way they choose, to help them feel more at home.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

As soon as you enter Collingwood Court, you’ll notice the strong sense of family that we have. Relatives play a big part in home life, and can visit whenever they wish. There’s always something happening too, from activities, entertainment and outings to visits from volunteers and local schoolchildren.

The food is first class. My loved one is always saying how good it is! Everything is home-cooked from fresh, and they have plenty to choose from, including vegan and vegetarian options. I've been there myself at breakfast a few times and it looks great… there's loads to choose from. Whatever they fancy, they can have it!

The activities team is great… they're always trying to keep residents occupied with fun events and they've started taking them out in a minibus for the day, which they love! They change the activities programme each week so there's lots of variety… tai chi, singalongs, entertainers coming in, parties, nail painting, tea dances... you name it!

All the team members demonstrate immense sympathy and patience with the residents, and they thoroughly understand my loved one's unique health issues. They treat her like a human being, and they know what makes her tick… they take an interest in her as a person and they encourage her to pursue her hobbies.
